Shadowrun 1E – Magic

With regard to Shadowrun magic, Hermetic Mages and Shamans are two distinct types of spellcasters. Hermetic Mages rely on the study and understanding of magical theory and formulas to cast spells, while Shamans draw on their spiritual connections to the natural world and their personal totem spirits to access magic. Both types of spellcasters have access to different spells and abilities, and each has their own unique strengths and weaknesses, making them suitable for different play styles and character builds.
